Introduction

Net grounds are grounds with repeats of usualy one stitch. There are several ways of placing the stitches:

Please note: the second and third diagrams are equivalent in GroundForge terms. It is possible to define a strechted honeycomb for the prototype diagram. The pair diagram however will initially show kite shapes, when activating the animation these kites will reshape into squares with a 45 degree angle. Only when defining plaits as stitches you will see the honeycomb again in the thread diagram.

It gets interesting, if we would use two (or more) different stitches. These grounds are known as “chaotic ground”, “alternating ground”, …

Please note: for most of the horizontal nets, the footsides on the left and right are best made like rctPctctPctt covering two rows as shown in the picture on the right.
